The number one tip is simple and yet often overlooked by many marketers. Write quality articles! Have you ever searched a topic and found an article that was nearly impossible to read or was just a pitch disguised as content? I’m sure you have. Look, if you want people to read your articles and then give value always, no exceptions! If all you want is back links maybe you should just buy some. However, if you really want to build a lasting business then treat it like one and solve your reader’s problems. That way they will keep coming back to you as a source of valuable information.
Number 2. Rewrite your articles several times.
The name of the game with Article Marketing is simple, write quality articles, post them on your blog or site. And then rewrite them and post the rewritten articles to article directories linking them back to your site. You must rewrite them to avoid being penalized by the search engines for duplicate content.
Number 3. Submit your articles to the top article directories.
This is important since the search engines give you better credibility when your links come from reputable authority sites. Sites like E zine Articles are good places to start. A great way to find out how they are ranking is to search you topic on Google and look for article directories that rank high for your topic. Then open an account and start submitting your articles.
Number 4. Be sure to state a benefit of your article in your title.
It can even be a question which will build curiosity in your reader making them want to read your article. (Ex. Dog Training – what you must know to have a happy pooch!) This ties in well with the first point of providing value. How will a potential reader know he has found what he is looking for if you don’t tell him what to expect.
Number 5. A call to action.
Unless your writing is merely a hobby your purpose is to drive traffic right? So its vital to do a couple of things in the “resource box” after your conclusion. You could use this, “click here for more information about…” its good but having a click-able link with a keyword you are ranking for is better.
Article marketing remains one of the most effective means of internet marketing, but it takes time to build your inventory. Once in place it will continue to serve you for a very long time. Use these five strategies and you can be confident that your efforts will bear fruit. Good Writing!
